One of the items from our original menu at The Moth Cafe was a Raw Gluten-Free Avocado Coconut Bacon Bagel. We decided to bring it back recently, but amped up into a full meal.
Today, we want to share our Raw Gluten-Free Bagel recipe with you. It’s perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a satisfying snack!
This bagel is “raw” because it is not heated over 118 degrees Fahrenheit (a guideline in raw food diets). We use a dehydrator to make these bagels. However, if you don’t have one you could set your oven to the lowest possible heat and dehydrate the bagels that way. We have not tested this method though, so keep an eye on them!
The main ingredients are nuts and seeds, making this bagel an amazing source of protein, fats, and nutrients. A few simple seasonings give the bagel a savoury flavour, while raisins provide a touch of natural sweetness.
If you’re unsure about the idea of making a raw bagel, check out our recipe video to see how simple it actually is!

Notes
We like to eat the Raw Bagel with our GF Raw Coconut Bacon (recipe to be posted soon), avocado, sprouts, spinach and a side of grapefruit. It’s also delightful with cashew cream cheese!
If you’re not wanting a fully raw meal, you can lightly toast the bagel for a little more crunch and warmth.
We hope you enjoy this raw bagel as much as we do!
